RHA Out and About

With the summer coming to an end and the big tournaments finished the Roller Hockey Alliance is settling in and getting back to work throughout the country. After traveling from Florida (Torhs), to Toronto (NARCh), to State Wars in Cincinnati the RHA booth is packed away and being replaced by trips to facilities for some grassroots development. With the summer behind us the RHA is looking ahead to 2010 and doing everything it can to grow and unite the sport across the country.

The summer dawned the start of RHA Coaches Seminars that were taken in by enthusiastic roller hockey coaches at NARCh and State Wars. The seminars were run by a very energetic and overqualified, Peter Dale and showcased some of the best coaching material that had ever been taken in at any similar event. The seminars were attended by over 50 coaches from twenty year veterans to parents just entering the sport. All of these coaches came looking to learn whatever they could to add to their knowledge of the sport and walked away with a few points that have probably never crossed their minds. Looking towards the future, the RHA, thanks to Lifetime Media, had some seminars taped to be edited with some question and answer bits that will be available for rink operators to help educate coaches of all levels.

The 2009 summer was a great one for roller hockey. Torhs in West Palm Beach, Florida was a great event, NARCh Nationals is always at the top of the list for a player and this year was the same, while State Wars is a different type of event and yet very professionally run. “I had the opportunity to be at all three events this summer and I met and spoke with some very excited people. All three venues and events were first class and I look forward to getting the RHA name out there even more in 2010,” said RHA representative, CJ Yoder.
